Tarnished Honor

What is honor to a man? At what point does he trade his integrity? Brighde was being sold to the highest bidder by her uncle unbeknownst to her. Connall was journeying home to Halkirk after two years of service with honors, to the king when their paths cross. His honor was everything to him. He lived and breathed it. But after meeting Brighde his integrity was to be tested.

After being presented with the offer, along with Stephen Ross, he knew he could not leave her to her fate. Ross was well known to go through a wife a year. His honor demanded that he intervene and yet, to do so would mean bedding Brighde to force her into the marriage. Performing that act would make him appear to have no honor no integrity.
