After a mysterious outbreak sweeps the town of Marfa, Texas, causing the fight-or-flight reaction in residents to become unstable, chaos soon erupts. It's not long before the US military instigates a cordon sanitaire to contain the contagious, and a small band of survivors finds itself at the center of a terrifying government experiment.

At the onset of the devastation, Chief Brody Jackson is not only juggling a six-month separation from his wife, dealing with an unruly son, and hunting down a homicidal maniac, but now, he's torn between protecting the town and saving his dysfunctional family.
