Art Worlds

This book is one of the foundation in sociology of culture and sociology of art. From symbolical interactionist perspective and drawing on ideas of his mentor Everett Hughes Howard Becker makes an attempt to outline his own approach to art as social-production system where everyone - from artists to gallery visitors are included. It seems that this book is good alternative to Pierre Bourdieu's approach to art and culture and could be interesting for number of people who are interested in social world of art.
