This book is unique because no other winery in the world opens its museum cellar for an external, independent assessment of their entire collection extending back over half a century. The book updates previous tasting notes as well as adding new wines assessed by an internationally renowned tasting panel and undertaken at tasting events in Australia, China, Germany and USA. This will be the seventh edition of The Rewards of Patience book. Produced in conjunction with the Penfolds wine company, the book charts the history and heritage and all aspects of their wine production. Widely considered to be Australia's greatest producer of cellarable red wines, the Penfolds brand portfolio is extensive with a collection of 'Icon and Luxury' Bin, Cellar Reserve, Thomas Hyland and Koonunga Hill tiers, as well as the iconic Grange as its flagship prestige wine. The book incorporates the independent assessments and opinions of internationally renowned wine journalists from Asia, the Americas, Europe and Australia of all Penfolds premium wines. These wine-by-wine assessments judge the drinking and cellaring potential of all Penfolds wines and were gathered from global tasting events during 2011 and 2012.
